Shawn Mendes, a Canadian pop musician, has postponed the rest of his tour so he may concentrate on his health.
The Covid epidemic ended international tours in 2020, forcing many celebrities, including the 23-year-old, to take a break from performing live.
Mendes, however, said in a statement that he "was not at all prepared for how tough touring would be after this time away."
When he had "taken the necessary time to recover," he assured his admirers, that he would come back.
Mendes was scheduled to play shows in Birmingham, Glasgow, London, and Sheffield in 2023, however, the events have since been postponed.
"I started this tour happy to finally go back to playing live after a lengthy absence due to the pandemic, but the fact is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away," Mendes stated in a statement shared on his social media platforms.
"It is more obvious now that I need to take the time I've never taken individually to ground myself, after consulting with my team and working with an amazing set of health specialists.
It pains me to tell you this, but I pledge to return as soon as I have had the proper amount of time to recuperate.
Adding that he wanted to reschedule the gigs in the future, he thanked the audience for their support and assured them that despite the cancellation of the shows, he would continue to release music.
Of the 87 gigs Mendes had planned in the US and Europe, he has only performed seven so far.
The news follows the singer's earlier declaration that he was postponing some of the tour dates in order to "recuperate and take care of myself and my mental health."
Mendes stated at the time that he was "ready to plunge back in" after spending "a few years off the road" as a result of the Covid epidemic, but that his choice had eventually turned out to be "premature."
The singer's biggest songs are Seorita, a duet with his ex-girlfriend Camila Cabello, Stitches, Treat You Better, and There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back.
