After its previously scheduled live fire operations finished on Sunday, China's military has stated that it will continue extensive military exercises near Taiwan.
The Eastern Theatre Command of the Chinese army said that it would simulate maritime raids and anti-submarine strikes.
Beijing's four days of training were in reaction to Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House, visiting the island.
China has been charged by Taiwan with practicing an invasion of the island through these drills.
Taiwan said on Monday that Chinese ships and planes had not yet breached its territorial seas while participating in the drills.
The Taiwan Strait, a body of water 180 kilometers (110 miles) wide that separates the mainland from the island, is the focus of the drills, which have been denounced by the US, Australia, and Japan.
Throughout the drills, Chinese ships and planes have frequently breached the strait's middle line. However, Taiwan's defense ministry asserted on Monday that the presence of the median line was a "truth" and that there had been a tacit agreement over it ever since the 1950s.
Beijing's decision to stop working with the US in a number of areas, including climate change, in retribution for Ms. Pelosi's visit, has also drawn criticism from Washington.
Beijing views Taiwan as a province that broke away and that it may, if necessary, annex with force.
However, Taiwan is an independent island that views itself as separate from China.
But China is outraged by any suggestion that Western leaders are acknowledging this.
Taiwan's perspective: "We've had this for 70 years."
China stops collaborating with the US on important subjects
After the Chinese maritime authorities indicated that drills will also take place elsewhere, activity surrounding Taiwan has picked up again.
New daily military operations, including live-fire training, were scheduled to begin on Saturday in the Yellow Sea, which is positioned between China and the Korean peninsula.
Additionally, a month-long military operation began on Saturday in a portion of the Bhai Sea that is north of the Yellow Sea.
Basics about China and Taiwan
Why are ties between China and Taiwan so bad? The autonomous island is considered to be a part of Chinese territory, and China argues that it should be united with the mainland, using force if necessary.
Who is in charge in Taiwan? The island has its own constitution, democratically elected officials, and armed forces with roughly 300,000 active members.
Who acknowledges Taiwan? Taiwan is recognized by only a few nations. Instead, Beijing is where most people recognize the Chinese government. Although the US has no diplomatic relations with Taiwan, a law mandates it to give the island the tools to defend itself.
