Lulu, a previous Eurovision winner, wants Glasgow, Scotland, to host the next competition.
The musician said that the city was "music wild" and would produce "the most wonderful hosts" on BBC Two's Newsnight.
It follows the announcement by the contest's organizers that the UK will host the competition instead of Ukraine, which took first place in this year's competition owing to the continuing conflict in that nation.
Glasgow is now vying with other cities for the honor.
The competition will be held in the UK for the eighth time next year, although Scotland has only served as host once, in 1972, when the competition took place at Edinburgh's Usher Hall.
UK will host the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
In which cities in the UK may Eurovision 2023 be held?
How did the UK end its losing run at the Eurovision?
Glasgow has to be it since that's where I'm from, said Lulu.
They are the best hosts, so politically astute, and unquestionably music obsessed.
"I would be there, and I believe that would be the most amazing thing. I simply can't wait.
Lulu, whose real name is Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, had her first hit on the charts at the age of 15 in 1964 when she sang Shout by the Isley Brothers.
She sang the song Boom Bang-a-Bang to represent the UK at the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest when she was only 20 years old. That evening, it received votes as one of four joint winners.
In addition, Lulu is well-known for her roles in Sir, with Love (1967), in which she co-starred with Sidney Poitier, and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), in which she performed the title song.
After 30 years in the business, she eventually had her sole number one hit when she teamed up with Take That on 1994's Relight My Fire.
Sam Ryder of the UK performed his song Space Man at this year's Eurovision, placing second overall and first in the jury vote.
With London, Sheffield, and Manchester having previously announced preparations to submit a formal proposal, the UK has a number of towns with venues, lodging, and international transportation links to host the competition.
Additionally thought to be competitors are Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Brighton, Bristol, Belfast, Cardiff, and Nottingham.
Jay Aston of Bucks Fizz, who won the competition in 1981 with Making Your Mind Up, also spoke to News night and expressed her hope that organizing the event and Mr. Ryder's triumph this year will encourage more British people to be enthused about Eurovision.
We've all been becoming frustrated since we've placed last too frequently, she remarked.
She said that she wished the occasion would honor Ukraine for their victory in this year's competition.
We must make it Ukraine's show since they obviously won, she remarked. "We are unable to hog the spotlight. It's all about them winning."
Added Lulu: "That is really significant. The UK will support Ukraine in whatever town or city it visits."
