A memorial run for Sarah Harding drew hundreds of participants, including three members of Girls Aloud, to Hyde Park.

A year after disclosing she had breast cancer, the 39-year-old singer passed away in September.

Bandmates Nicola Roberts, Cheryl, and Nadine Coyle attended the 5k Cancer Research run event called Race For Life For Sarah.

Many people, like Kimberley Walsh, participated virtually in addition to the large pink-clad mob that gathered in London.

How Sarah Harding altered popular music

Harding tributes are led by Cheryl and her Girls Aloud bandmates.

Cheryl, who once went by the names Tweedy, Cole, and Fernandez-Versini but now goes by just her first name, has admitted that she is still having trouble accepting the passing of her bandmate.

It doesn't feel like she has left at all, she remarked. I'll be honest; I've never gone through or expected this kind of sadness.

The sensation of shock and amazement still remains today, to be honest. I still can't quite believe it's real. I lost grandparents and a friend when I was younger, but nothing like this.

Sarah Harding had a "electric" personality, according to Nicola Roberts. "Sarah's energy was like a firecracker so I feel like that tremendous difference in energy when she's not there," she said.

"I believe that we don't feel like Girls Aloud right now. Without Sarah, we don't feel like a band. It doesn't seem that way since, as I just mentioned, she was a significant part of our energy".

How is breast cancer detected?

Although there are other symptoms as well, a lump or thickening in the breast is the most typical marker of breast cancer.

They consist of:

Breast size or texture changes

alterations to the breast's skin, such as dimpling or redness

nipple fluid leakage that is not related to breastfeeding or pregnancy

The nipple's position shifts

Get any lumps or changes examined by a doctor as these symptoms might be brought on by other disorders.

In the UK, breast cancer is the most prevalent malignancy, and women over 50 are more at risk than those under 40.

Breast cancer has a wide range of therapies, and if caught early, the prognosis is often excellent.

Sarah Harding's condition was brought up by bandmate Nadine Coyle as being "in denial": "Last year at this time, we were really hanging together.

"Last year, we all got together. She was present, we spoke with her, and she didn't even appear to be that ill.

I was the buddy who said, "Oh, it's going to be all right," and I remained wholly in denial until the day she died away.
